Title: Rapid Programme Idea?
Description: Need something for Network for next week
Horus Kol - February 9, 2007 01:00 PM (GMT)
I'm trying to keep Network ticking over this term following some bad news that our propsective local coordinator is not able to take on the role...
We haven't had too good a start this term - no actual Network meetings (we are partnered with a SSAGO group who've had a couple of things though).
I've figured a few things to go to the end of Easter - but can't think of a suitable "start" night next week...
Any ideas - i'm looking for a night where people can get together, talk, probably be diverted by some other activity/ies, and just have a good evening...

I suggest you take them to a climbing wall, artificial or just a rock face

that's already on the SSAGO units diary for the week after...

THen how about:
Hiking - take them on a fairly easy hike around the local countryside
Canoeing - take them canoeing down a local river
Or you could take them to the pub or have some sort of scouting skills night.

How about for a start night look at doing something fun and light hearted... that enables them to get-to-know eachother...
Google Icebreakers - the Toilet paper one worked well
or
Speed Networking - where they move round after five minutes and talk to different people.
As a group at the end - discus the future of the network
Do they want to do their awards?
Do they want to do some training?
Network Names???
And most importantly - Network events
- Great Towers being the next one! (The National Network Gathering in West Lancs)
Then - if possible organise an easy night for the next meeting
e.g. Old School Scouts - games that they used to play in scouts/ventures and ask if anyone would mind organising it?
The trick is to let them have fun and let them get involved

thanks for the ideas guys - the Speed Networking sounds like the most fun one... Cheers
