Title: Crack the Code
Keith - February 27, 2007 04:19 PM (GMT)
This game is simple, I have a code of 6 numbers between 0 and 9 and you have to guess what the code is, in the right order. After each guess I will say if each number is correct and if it is not right if it is higher or lower then the guess.
Heres the game?
[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

I've got a slightly more thought - provoking code. 100 points for anyone who can crack it before the first clue. Here's the message to decipher:
T PUNQJ DTP UNQITWV XG TFF BXCCXUQFJXUP
And here's the key to use:
A = 1 I = 9 Q = 4 Y = 12
B = 2 J = 10 R = 5 Z = 13
C = 3 K = 11 S = 6
D = 4 L = 12 T = 7
E = 5 M = 13 U = 8
F = 6 N = 1 V = 9
G = 7 O = 2 W = 10
H = 8 P = 3 X = 11

Im going to try and work it out when I next have a spare hour.
Might use cut and paste in word to work it out though.
Dr_Pepper - March 7, 2007 03:26 PM (GMT)
A pen and paper is probably required. It is quite difficult but one of our scouts worked it out...
_Becky_ - March 7, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
Well, in number form it's:
7 3 8 1 4 10 4 7 3 8 1 4 9 7 10 9 11 7 7 6 6 2 11 3 3 11 8 4 6 10 11 8 3
But I'm not sure what it means...
All i got was that the numbers from 1-13 are repeated, so there are 2 letters for each number... could it be the other letter or something? And then rearranged? :huh:
Dr_Pepper - March 8, 2007 12:13 AM (GMT)
It's Input + Key = Output. In other words the key is not a direct translation but you need to use it to obtain the actual answer, which is a sentence made up of letters only.
ok ok so a big clue. One to start you off. M = Z, so if there is a M in the code (which there isn't), in the real sentence it's a Z.
_Becky_ - March 10, 2007 08:56 AM (GMT)
Ok...but that just leaves a load of mumbo juimbo...I worked it all out, so if I did it right then it must be a huge anagram?
g chadw qgc hadvgji kt gss okppkhdswkhc
The first word has to be either A or I if it is anagrams...but I'm not sure about it.
Am I on the right track? :huh:
Dr_Pepper - March 10, 2007 11:47 AM (GMT)
Well sort of. I can see where you've got that from, but you've used 13 as the key for every letter. M + 13 = Z, but not all the letters have 13 as the key...
Kudos for putting in the effort though B)

Would it be consistent? So all instances of M would be Z, for example?
Horus Kol - March 10, 2007 04:06 PM (GMT)
Nevermind - I cracked it... have PM'd you (don't want to spoil it for the others)
Dr_Pepper - March 11, 2007 10:43 AM (GMT)
Well done Becky and Horus. The answer was "A scout has courage in all difficulties". Do any of you have any good ones?
Eyeball - March 12, 2007 09:24 AM (GMT)
Darn it...I read from the bottom up, so spoiled the fun for myself
