me and my daughter (beaver) where on google the other day and we found a web page about how to make a turks head woggle,
http://members.tripod.com/~cubclub/turk2t.html my daughter loved the idea and has made a few with her scoobies.
now on another web site we found a pdf called The Origins of the Woggle and in this pdf it states

| the design of the Gilwell woggle (ie that formed by the turks head knot) and the wearing of it retricted to leaders who had complited preliminary or basic training from 1943 until 1989 when the structure of leader training was revised |
as I am very new to Scouting and don't know all the rules, my question is would she be allowed to wear her homemade woggles?
I'm guessing she can't but I just thought I'd ask :)
I think you should be able to, but its sensible to ask your daughters section leader.

Thanks for the reply, I'll ask the leader next week, hopefully they will say yes :)
For the last 26 years one of my Scout Leaders has been making all the Troops woggles. These are based on the Turks Head knot. We have had a lot of comments about the woggles, and many groups are now making there own. We have had no problems.
