I remember when I was in Scouts my patrol having the animal changed from Buffalo to Cobra. We had 5 patrols at that time.

What patrol names do people use, and how many do you have?

at the moment our scouts use badgers, kestrels, beavers and peewits.

When I first joined I was in Badger patrol. Everyone was much bigger then me.

Kingfishers, Wolves, Tigers, Cobras. We origionally had Kestrols ut when we went back to four patrols we found we had spare Kingfishers badges so used that name.

I don't know. Sad isn't it.

I'll make it my mission to find out before Christmas.

I was sad to see it when badger patrol was gone. We then only had four patrols.

I found out - Seagull, Kingfisher, Kestrel, Swift

I remember hearing of a bulldog patrol in one of the other troops within my district, but that troop is long since folded.

If I set up a troup, I would use some of the less well known ones: Curlew, Merlin and Swift.

Pretty sad though not knowing what your own Group's Patrol were.

...all those gone by years yea :)

At the moment we have Wolf and Kestrel.

We did also used to have Badger and Swift, but a drop in numbers meant that we only had numbers for two partols. If numbers increase we will bring back Swift patrol as we lost that one the most recently.
I'd like Hawk or Merlin as the pictures on the badges look cool!

i don't think we actually had patrol names... i can't quite remember (old age fogs the memory... or was it just beer :P ).

we did have patrols.

Being air scouts, we have planes, and bombers, badges to suit each patrol

When I took over as Scout Leader in June last year the patrols were Elephant and Lion

but as you cant get badges for them i changed them to Panther, Wolf and introduced Stag

but this year after a bit of digging around we have changed to the Troops 1908 patrol names Owl, Otter, Peewit, and Bulldogs

i was a canary - we decides the i think it was kestrel looked more like a canary soo the name stuck and i was forever a canary!!!

We had to add another patrol to our troop this term, so we added panthers to our list of patrol names. We got the PLs to decided on the name.

So were you the patrol that was sent into situations first (mines for example :D)

We currently have five Patrols - Badges, Eagles, Foxes, Kingfishers and Owls. If we increase in numbers then we will re-use Kestrals as the sixth Patrol.

we have hawks, spitfires, phatoms, lightings and if enough members hurricanes, we are not air scouts.

We made up our name it was the VIPERS and we used the cobres badge:). Also we have used Wolf and panther
