Hi 'Scouting World' The Good idea of the 'Mad Weekend' by Essex Explorers is being taken for a 'Major Ride' this Weekend by some other 'Fairly Very,Very Mad Explorers' who wanted to know the effects of alchohol,extreme cold and lack of sleep.Simple one that 'It's Death'.Always Popular in that everybody tries it at some time in their 'Lives'.I gather a 'caravan' is involved I suggested 'Beachy Head' as there is to be a 'new' 'Stunt Person' award for those over the age of seventeen.I have a friendly Pathologist standing by who's particular speciality is 'unexplained Adolescent death's'.Don't worry I will 'spill the beans-A bit like the caravan when they pull the bodies out.
As I enter the Underground I happen to notice about thirty Police Officers two with Alsatian Dogs.Thank Goodness they are doing something about those 'Drugies',Knife Carry Scum','Fare Dogers.As I walk through the two rows of Officers.I am stopped and questioned another Officer looks through My bag.It's full of 'drugs' mostly 'Psychotropics' end of Treatments.Medications that have been changed or modified in treating Adolescent Patients also samples from Pharmaceutical Companies.There is also a 'Swiss Army Knife' in my bag and My Oyster Card (Pre Pay card used in London) does not work.As the other Passengers file through they each give me a 'Caught the Bastard Look'.Dr.Stu..

"Ah there we are". No near Death experiences or nearly Death Experiences.I gather some things like central heating and hot showers were missing from 'the coastal van'.Anyway if they had stayed any longer they would have missed being snowed in on the Motorway always an interesting experience.There are Emergency Procedures and Protocols that we are bound to follow whether it's 'Weather','Social Unrest' or people 'dropping like Flies' because of some yet unknown 'Virus'.In fact if all else fails there is always 'The Virus' or 'A Virus' to blame.Quite a fair proportion of the Adolescent Patients I see have 'A Virus'.Kids with eczema tell me there is a virus going round their School,which has given all the kids (14-16) 'spotty faces'.I tell them that I should inform the 'WHO' (Not the 60's Mod Band) 'The World Health Organisation',they at least will close the School and proberly exterminate all the teathers (That always goes down well !).Quite a lot of Mental Health Problems present as being 'Virus' linked particularly Depression and High States of Anxiety.The Childrens Society is Publishing a Report today saying how badly some Children fare in the Modern Society.
I have been looking at some DVD copies from the mid to late 1980's of Gang Shows from the 1st Bilston Scouts.They are just Great I think that Gang Shows might be on the decline judging from a number of conversations I have had with Scouter Producers in the last few months.There are some Great Shows coming up Birkenhead,Chester,Marple,Grimsby,South Berks.I am also meeting in the next few weeks a few of 'My Scouting Heros' John from Corby who produced 28 Wonderful Corby Gang Shows.Roger in Dundee who produced 31 Dundee Gang Shows and still writes and Produces and Roy who had been around in Scouting from when all the 'Modern Changes' in the 1960's were taking place.I am going to tramp through the snow to Gilwell later in the week.I wonder if there will be anybody there ? In 2007 there were 100's of people now the place can seem empty. In fact the best time to go is when someone is having their 'Wedding Reception ' there. It's all very traditional .'They split all the Guests up into Patrols and if you are lucky enough to be put in the same Patrol as the Bride and Groom you share their Patrol Tent.
