Work is now well underway on a new visual identity for the site. You probibly won't get to see it until after the relaunch so I thought id give you a little teaser clue.
Fonts are Rockwell Extra Bold (the font in our current logo) and Mead Bold (you can see it in my new signiture). Its also going to have the scout arrowhead logo on it.
It is being designed to be simple and flexable so that we can put it on banners, buttons, posters, letterheads, t-shirts, mousemats, mugs, caps, etc. in the future. This will also help spread the word about the site as I am sure that people notice what logos people have on t-shirts, hoodys, etc.
All of thats for the future and with our planned relaunch too its going to be an exciting year for the site and thanks for being a part of it, especially if you are helping to spread the word.
Hello Keith never one to let the grass grow under Your feet.I do like the new visual style identity for all the reasons You outlined, particularly as it can be used on any number of items and objects. The recognition factor is also very high and I can picture it in a number of situations.I was wondering if there is any Scouting event where (We) [I mean members from the Forum] could perhaps have a stand as a try out ? Earlier in the week I got a shout for the research I am doing into the History of Boy Scout Gang Shows on 'Making History' on Radio 4. [Tuesday 7th April] its on line if You would like to listen to it.BBC Making History. It took one email and one phone call and the BBC did all the rest.Keith I am a great fan of the 'Scout Forum uk' and I long for the day that Scouts use it as a way of linking their mind and thoughts together. With so much bad stuff involving Young People Scouting is still a great path away from all that.Channel 4 has yet another Documentary Series on the situations and conditions that'Young People' are treated for in A&E,It's all rather worrying although it is My profession. As I always say keep up the 'Good Work'.All Best Wishes.Dr.Stu..
I have just had a listen to the radio 4 thing and it was a tiny bit disappointed with it as I expected to hear you talk about it as well as the expert they got in.
No Sorry Keith, the Production Company that Produces 'Radio 4's 'Making History' have a range of 'Experts' on certain subjects who they 'wheel in' to speak about the topics on the programmes.I have a particular view on Scouting including Gang Shows which is perhaps not that expressed on the Programme, although Andy Medhurst did say something about 'As well as mods and rockers there were those who studied at school and continued to University and went to scouts and [who took part in Boy Scout Gang Shows] who didn't end up as 'career criminals',In fact we ended up with Professional Careers. And feelings of 'Self Worth','Confidence' and the (Modern Term) 'Well Being'.Dr.Stu..
