Oh Dear ! Seems there are concerns being expressed about 'The Explorers' going away on their own and what they might 'get up to'.The concerns needless to say are all negative with worries over sex,drink,drugs,behaviour and violence.As I have daughters I said that I always used to tell them not to be to rough with the boys and to remember to share any drink and drugs they had ! I did express the view that our Explorer Unit was made up of some 'Great Scouts' and I could not see them doing anything that would cause problems,in fact the reason they were going away was to share some of the things that they had in common these can be grouped under a particular title 'Namely Scouting'.A Radical View I know but when 'Scouting' becomes other than a 'Good Time' with some 'Good Mates' having some 'Real Fun' away from all those worries about exams and jobs and future, then it will be time to sell the tents on EBay !
