Title: Camping

FRADU - May 30, 2009 05:58 PM (GMT)
Hello all, havent posted in a while, been busy with school and all sorts! I just thought I would post to say how much I enjoy camping, and scout camps in particular. I love how you can walk onto an empty field, and a few hours later its like a small city with defined accomodation areas, washing areas, cooking areas and everything else. I also very much enjoy the satisfaction of putting up and taking down tents. I love being anal and making sure all the guy ropes are tidy, and that it fits in the bag nicely, and that its got homely touches to it. I would also say, that scout camps are when I am at my happiest. I love getting away from everything, sleeping in a tent, getting to know the boys, staying up around the fire and even cooking. I would also like to point out for anyone looking to buy a tent that the Orion from Blacks is the greatest tent I have ever seen. I bought it the other day with my birthday money for no real reason, I already have 3 other tents :P . I got home and put it up in the garden and did some geography revision in it. It seems like Blacks have taken everything that irritates me about tents and fixed it. It has a massive porch area and overhead storage area, built in light, the groundsheet for the porch is attacked to the inner tent, the inner tent clips onto the outer tent, the bag is actually big enough for anyone but a machine to pack the tent into, it comes with extra guy ropes and a bit of pole. It has just taken anything that Eurohike makes and made it completely obsolete. All the crap things that eurohike do have been totally fixed in this tent and I cannot enthuse enough about it! At £129.99 its not too expensive, but its definitely worth it!
